Megan had a bicycle accident on September 2nd, 1998, with a lady driving a MiniVan.  The following picture shows the site of accident and attempts to depict a plausible sequence of events.  (Megan's doctor said, "You must have something important to achieve in this life."  To which Megan replied, "That, or perhaps I'm just damn'd lucky.")

While we are overjoyed and greatly relieved that she suffered only a broken sholder blade and have painted this an a somewhat whimsical format it is not meant to detract from the seriousness and somber respect that is deserved.  About an hour later, in a different part of town (only a mile away) another student in Megan's school had a similar accident and did not survive.  His mother, is an EMT with the Milford ambulence service and was first on the scene.  We can only begin to imagine her devastation, loss, and sense of grief.  It only magnifies the great sense of relief and good fortune that we feel.
